Classic Palace Tour
During this classic guided tour through the rooms of the Residence Museum in Celle Palace, you will learn much about the history of the Guelphs (who ruled in Celle) and through this, the history of the Principality of Braunschweig-Lüneburg / Celle, the Electorate of Hanover and the ‘Personal Union’ with Great Britain. Not only will you hear fascinating stories about the personalities who lived in Celle Palace, but also about the history the building, from its beginnings in 1318 through to the 19th century.
When rehearsals allow, the Palace Theatre is also part of this tour - the oldest Baroque theatre in Germany with a resident working cast.
The crowning culmination of this tour is a visit to the Palace Chapel (a jewel of the Renaissance, which for centuries has survived – almost – unaltered).
