The Africa Museum
The Africa Museum was founded around 100 years ago by a Mr. Harry Lotze, a teacher at the village school in Sülze.
In the 1930s, the collection even went on tour through northern Germany as a travelling exhibition. Exhibits from the animal and plant world, everyday objects, cultural goods and photos were shown, that would bring the visitor closer to the continent of Africa.
Touching the objects is not only absolutely allowed but positively encouraged, in accordance with the motto "Grasp Africa through Touch”! The museum is run by Eva and Stefan in der Beeck, who themselves lived in Africa.
The museum offers educational classes on a variety of subjects, for 3rd and 4th year students.
