Workshop Butter & Frischkäse selbst herstellen

  • Other seminar/class/workshop
  • Other gastronomy
Butter wasn't always intended solely for consumption; it was also used, for example, as a packaging material. This meant that "everything was in butter" and secure—that is, packed so it wouldn't break.

It wasn’t until the Middle Ages that people discovered its culinary merits. According to ancient texts, cheese is, in any case, an invention of the Greek gods. In fact, people in the Stone Age had already discovered that milk curdles in a warm place, thereby recognizing the principle of lactic acid fermentation. Milk was transported in stomach linings; the rennet contained therein causes the separation of curds and whey—and just like that, you have cheese.

It’s actually quite simple—you just have to know how to do it.

In this short workshop, we’ll make butter and buttermilk, prepare cream cheese, and then taste the results.
