Geschichte im Grünen - Eine Zeitreise durch den Französischen Garten
Nobile Donna Cosima Quirini has plenty to share; after all, the Quirini family had close ties to the Guelphs as far back as the Baroque period, and it was during that time that the French Garden in Celle was created. On this entertaining costumed tour, the former “Chief Mistress of the Household” will guide you to the most beautiful spots and most important sites in the historic park, which was laid out in the late 17th century as a prestigious court and pleasure garden for the Dukes of Celle. Along the way, she’ll casually share stories of “Himmelsstriche,” aristocratic tea parties, and all sorts of fascinating details about the garden’s origins, use, and evolution. Of course, she’ll also share tales of the aristocratic residents of the Guelph Castle, who were frequent visitors to the garden.
